Our house is not currently a churchgoing house. Which isn’t to say we never were or never will be again, but right now we are not.
Still, I know we need to make a conscious effort each weekend to do something unselfish that brightens the world.
I think today we will plant sunflowers.
I also read this lovely piece on Brain Pickings full of excerpts from the writer Madeleine L’Engle:
“So let us look for beauty and grace, for love and friendship, for that which is creative and birth-giving and soul-stretching. Let us dare to laugh at ourselves, healthy, affirmative laughter. Only when we take ourselves lightly can we take ourselves seriously, so that we are given the courage to say, “Yes! I dare disturb the universe.”
